During Houston’s dramatic comeback for a 35-34 win over Pitt in the Armed Forces Bowl Friday, defensive tackle Joey Mbu showed some impressive moves.
The Houston Cougars scored a dramatic 35-34 win over the Pitt Panthers in Friday’s Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas, coming back from a 31-6 deficit in the fourth quarter to get the victory.
Houston (8-5) never lost its spirit in the game, exemplified by defensive tackle Joey Mbu taking an opportunity to bust a move during a short stoppage in play.
The cat moves pretty good for being 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, don’t cha think?
Mbu had one tackle in the game after posting 31 tackles, 2½ sacks and an interception during the regular season for Houston and was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection that will play in both the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Game in preparation for the NFL Draft this spring.
He is currently ranked 14th at defensive tackle and 191st overall by ESPN.com.
Houston got the win by going for a two-point conversion and making it with 59 seconds to go in the game–a gutsy call by interim coach David Gibbs.
A senior from Richmond, Texas, his official bio at the University of Houston website says he is majoring in kinesiology—the science of human movement.
Based on his impromptu performance Friday, that sounds just about right.
