Peyton Manning went the distance to track down his number one fan in the North Pole.

Peyton Manning is known to do everything he can for the community and for the fans. Well, he proved that to be true once again.

Kristen Patterson had written a letter to Peyton Manning back in September for her husband, Army Sgt. Ryan Patterson, who is a huge Peyton Manning fan. Both Kristen and Ryan are originally from Indiana, so Ryan grew up a huge Indianapolis Colts fan. Kristen said that her husband would stream colts games in the middle of the nigh while he was serving in Afghanistan. While he was a huge Colts fan, he is even more so a Peyton fan. He changed his allegiance to the Denver Broncos after Peyton left the Colts and joined the Broncos in 2012. So, obviously, meeting Peyton would definitely be something he would cherish.

That is why his wife, Kristen, decided to write a letter to the Broncos, on behalf of her husband, requesting to have her husband meet Peyton Manning. There was just one problem. Kristen, who now resides in North Pole, Alaska with her husband Ryan, forget to put a return address on the letter.

The letter did reach Peyton and he wanted to reach out, but had no idea had to get in touch with the Patterson’s with no return address. Peyton then turned to the Broncos PR department to do some research and see if they could find them. The PR staff got in touch with Utility companies and State Troopers in the North Pole in an attempt to find his biggest fan.

They were successful, and Kristen Patterson was pretty surprised.

‘When I got a call from (an Alaska) state trooper they asked if I wrote a letter to Peyton Manning,” Patterson said. “They said the Denver Broncos were trying to get a hold of me. When I sent it, you never know if someone is going to read it or if it is going to be tossed in a pile. So I thought they never read it, no big deal.’

The Broncos PR staff and Kristen were able to set up a meeting in Cincinnati, which was meant to be a surprise for Ryan. Ryan figured out what was going on though, when they arrived at the Broncos’ hotel in Cincinnati. It didn’t matter. All that mattered was that he was getting the chance to meet his favorite player.

It was a dream come true for Ryan Patterson.

‘He seemed genuinely tickled that we lived in North Pole, Alaska. He said, ‘”You guys are really hard to find,”‘ Patterson said. ‘Before he left he shook my hand and thanked me for my service one more time and I thanked him for being my quarterback.’

Ryan will have a great memory to warm his heart as he heads home to the frigid North Pole.
