As many would expect, the Seattle Seahawks are pretty large favorites over the Carolina Panthers of the NFC South.

More from Carolina Panthers

Now that the action of NFL Wils Card Weekend is over and done with, it’s now time to turn our attention to the Divisional Round next weekend, as we get closer and closer to seeing which two teams will do battle in Super Bowl 49.

One of the match ups that we will see next weekend on the NFC side will feature the defending champion Seattle Seahawks taking on the Carolina Panthers.

As you would expect, after the match ups were all set in place, the champs are pretty large favorites early heading into this one.

All things considered, that looks about right, and barring any sort of unforeseen circumstances during the week, should not change between now and when the teams will face one another next Saturday.

The Seahawks were playing better football than probably anyone else down the stretch of the NFL regular season and look very much poised to defend their title at all costs. They’re clicking on all cylinders in virtually every facet of their game at exactly the perfect time.

Carolina, on the other hand, is from the lowly NFC South, that some joked shouldn’t have even been allowed to have a team in the NFL postseason mix. While they did get themselves a playoff win on Saturday, they did so against an Arizona Cardinals team that was working with a third-string quarterback. Going up against a juggernaut like the Seahawks, many believe, might yield some different results.
