One Pittsburgh Steelers fan was done with the game and told Twitter he would run onto the field for RTs, but then Twitter snitched on him.
During the NFL Wild Card round on Saturday, a fed-up Steelers fan decided it would be a lot more fun to run onto Heinz Field, and obviously be caught by security, then continue watching the Ravens take his team apart. So he took to Twitter and let everyone in the Steelers hashtag know what he was about to do. For a price.
That’s how it started. 400 RTs seems like a pretty easy number with a tweet like that, and at the time of this writing, it’s at over six thousand, less than a day later. The game wasn’t exactly out of hand at the time of the tweet, but this fan had clearly had it. A good thing, considering what happened next.
That’s how it ended. Twitter snitched on him. It probably wasn’t too difficult for Steelers security to locate him, considering he posted a picture of his face and the general area where he was seated. Now we’ll never find out if he was really going to run onto the field or chicken out once he got his RTs.

It’s not a terrible thing for this fan though, if he intended to run out like he said. He didn’t have to watch the Steelers eventually lose and he didn’t have to get tackled on the field by security and possibly arrested. Plus he got his RTs and much more and plenty of Twitter and social media notoriety.
Next time he should probably just put out the tweet without a picture if he really wants to get half a chance to run onto the field. For those who thought the stadium’s reaction was harsh, considering he didn’t actually do anything, the Steelers and the NFL are obviously private companies who make their own rules and enforce them as they wish.
Meanwhile, the Steelers still lost, but looking on the bright side, preemptively kicking this fan out of the stadium gave the Steelers organization the chance to shut something down on Saturday.
