Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has been under siege so far against the Detroit Lions front-seven.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Everybody knew what the Dallas Cowboys‘ formula for success was during the 2014 NFL season. They are unapologetic to the fact that they’re a power-running football team who lead the league in rushing and time of possession.

This formula protected their lackluster defense and kept them off the field.

So far through one quarter of the NFC Wild Card Game against the Detroit Lions, Dallas hasn’t been able to run the ball a lick and their offensive line hasn’t been able to protect Tony Romo, even against a four-man rush. This has been a major surprise for an offensive line that most consider the best in the league this year.

The Romo fumble featured a Detroit four-man disguised rush where Pro Bowl left-tackle Tyron Smith completely botched his assignment. It already marks the second fumble for the Boys as on their first possession Dez Bryant fumbled after a hard hit, which he immediately recovered.

The Lions defense has come out on fire, ready to hit anything and everything in their face.

If Dallas abandons the run, or cannot get anything going on the ground, they’ll be in for a long day at “Jerry’s Place” and the questions surrounding Romo’s playoff woes will continue.
