We are three games into the NFL playoffs this year, and the AFC playoff picture is set for next weekend with both the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens surviving the Wild Card round. Now that the Wild Card round has concluded in the AFC, we now know what games we can expect to see next weekend when the Divisional playoffs kick off.
Cincinnati was hoping to not lose their fourth straight playoff game in as many years but that’s exactly what happened, and it sets up what looks to be a thrilling AFC Divisional round of stout AFC matchups.
Here’s a closer look at the AFC Divisional matchups, which are now set in stone with the Colts advancing to play the Denver Broncos next Sunday afternoon.
No matter who won the game on Sunday, the winner was going to head to Denver to take on the Broncos net week. That’s all thanks to the Baltimore Ravens storming into Pittsburgh on Saturday and bouncing the Steelers out of the postseason in convincing fashion.
Where the Ravens are a dangerous matchup for the New England Patriots, the Broncos can’t be too excited to see Andrew Luck and the Colts for a second time this season. Their first matchup went over well, with the Broncos running the Colts out of Denver but the Colts are getting hot and that’s dangerous for a shaky Broncos team.
Denver had some convincing wins this season, but they lost some real bruisers and that’s the type of game that could await them next Sunday. Andrew Luck and the Colts are just as shaky though, as they are capable of playing a game like they did today as much as they are a game where they get torched, like against Dallas earlier this season.
Either way, the AFC Divisional Playoffs are set, and next weekend will undoubtedly feature the four best teams in the AFC as the road to the Super Bowl continues to get more and more narrow.
