Carson Palmer said that he hopes the Larry Fitzgerald is back with the Arizona Cardinals next season.

Larry Fitzgerald, after one of his most forgettable seasons as a professional, has been on record as saying that he might not be back with the Cardinals next season. This is all due to a roster bonus of $8 million-plus spiking his cap number to a whopping $23.5 million in 2015.

Needless to say, that is a ton of money to give a wide receiver coming off of a bit of a bad season.

Both head coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer have made recently thrown their support behind re-signing Fitzgerald, stating how much they want Fitzgerald back with the Cardinals next year.

“He’s right where he’s always been,” Arians said. “I don’t control money and caps and all that crap. I just coach the heck out of him and he’s a great kid. I look forward to having him next year.”

Larry Fitzgerald was on pace to smash his old receiving record this year before losing quarterback Carson Palmer to injury and then missing some time himself to a knee injury. Fitzgerald missed 2 games this year while Palmer missed ten total.

That, coupled with Ryan Lindley being the quarterback for three of the most crucial games of the season, plays into why the Cardinals receiver had such a down year.

Just about everyone has an opinion on where Fitzgerald will play ball in 2015, with some stating he could be traded while others say it’s possibly that the team renegotiates his contract and restructures where the money will come from. Fitzgerald, however, said that he does not expect that the team will have him back next season.

Fitzgerald is still fairly young at 31 and was drafted by the Cardinals with the No.3 pick of the 2004 NFL draft. Fitzgerald has always been a productive receiver even with the teams well-known problems with having a good quarterback. Fitzgerald has made 8 Pro Bowls and recorded over 12,000 yards in his career with the Cardinals.
