Green Bay Packers linebacker Julius Peppers would like to return to the team in 2015.
Julius Peppers was a member of the Chicago Bears last season, and simply wasn’t able to play at the level that many had become accustomed to seeing him play at. He looked slow and old, and was unable to get to the quarterback and be a legitimate defensive presence for the Bears.

The Green Bay Packers went into last offseason looking to make some upgrades on the defensive side of the football, and that is exactly what they did by signing Peppers.
He has stepped up this season and been a leader for the Green Bay defense. The Packers signed Peppers to a three-year, $26 million deal last offseason but unfortunately his cap hit for 2015 is going to be $12 million, which has made many believe that the Packers could allow him to walk.
That being said, he has been too valuable for them to let go. Peppers seems to want to return to Green Bay following his resurgence this season as well.
“That’s the plan. I hope so,” Peppers said during the Packers’ bye week. “So far, so good. I feel like the team as a whole has played well, obviously we wanted to make the playoffs and win the division and all those things, and we’re on track to do everything we set out to do.”
Peppers has recorded 44 tackles to go along with four forced fumbles, two interceptions, 7.0 sacks, and two defensive touchdowns. Green Bay has absolutely loved the production he has given them, and he has complimented Clay Matthews very well in the pass rush.
At this point in time it seems like the two sides are going to stick together for next season. If the Packers decide that he has enough good football left in the tank, they will bring him back. They could ask him to take a bit of a pay cut, but they might also just allow him to keep his current deal.
Either way, expect to see Peppers returning to Green Bay next season to continue his defensive leadership role.
