MLB: Which former players will get the Hall of Fame call?
Which MLB player eligible for Hall of Fame consideration will receive that call?
On Tuesday, the 2015 Hall of Fame class will be announced. Some of the top former MLB players will be waiting by their phones for a call that will immortalize them.
Other than winning a championship, this is the greatest achievement in one’s career. While winning the championship is more of a team effort, making it to the Hall is completely something that is a personal achievement. You are being told that you are among the greatest in your sport.
Making it to the Hall of Fame can be almost as grueling as piling up the stats to get there. It is more difficult to get into the Baseball Hall of Fame than any other sport’s Hall of Fame. There are so many stats in baseball that you have almost enough to keep someone out as much as to get him in. For instance, there were SIXTEEN voters who did not think Greg Maddux deserved to get into the Hall last year.
One thing to note on this list is that other than on one case (because of the plain silliness of the suspicion), I won’t list any player suspected of PED usage. No, it’s not because I am morally outraged at what they did. Some of them actually deserve to be in. There are a great many members of the BBWAA who just won’t vote for them at this time.
Here is a list of ten players who are eligible for the Hall. Which ones will be named, and which ones will need to wait another year?
