The New York Knicks hiring Derek Fisher as head coach is no being fully realized as the horrific mistake it was when it happened.
The New York Knicks are not in a good place this season and things seem like they’re going to only get worse as the year continues. Carmelo Anthony may be shut down in the near future as to avoid becoming an injury victim to a lost season and the team has lost out on the prospects of getting Rajon Rondo, Kevin Love and other assets until at least the summer and even then things are looking shaky.

It was a controversial hire at the time and one that many believe was made only to save face after Steve Kerr bolted and took Golden State’s offer over the Knicks. The results have been slim with Fisher, and fans have finally had enough.
Over in Cleveland, the 19-15 Cavaliers have put head coach David Blatt on notice which means it’s of no surprise that Knicks fans are starting to tire of Derek Fisher. After yet another crushing loss at home, fans let Fisher know how they really feel about him and booed him relentlessly in a cathartic moment of frustration.
Fisher and the Knicks are going nowhere this season and that’s something that Phil Jackson needs to take blame for but is shuffling it off on Fisher. Jackson has been quiet this season — execute for when he’s telling the media how much his team sucks — while the fans are turning on Fisher.
But while they’re turning on Fisher now, it’s only a matter of time before their patience with Jackson runs out as well and they turn on him too. There’s always a way to come back from this though, as the Knicks just need to win.
That doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon though, as the pain of being a Knicks fan won’t be soothed, which could lead to changes before or after the season ends.
