The college football season is almost over so that means it is time to start looking forward to seeing the college stars perform in front of NFL teams at the NFL combine in February, but there are some tweaks to this year’s event.

The NFL Scouting Combine has become a televised event in recent years with the NFL Network airing the workouts to see how our favorite college stars perform in front of NFL scouts, coaches and general managers.
This year’s event is beginning one day early on Feb. 17 and runs through Feb. 23 and the benefit could be for the viewers because the skill position workouts will now take place on Saturday.
Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers command the most attention during the games and now they can get the most attention for the Scouting Combine with additional sets of eyes watching on Saturday.
With Heisman winner Marcus Mariota expected to decalre for the draft after Oregon plays Ohio State in the national championship game and last year’s Heisman winner, Jameis Winston, eligible for the draft, the workout would be a must-see affair.
I know I’ll be much more inclined to watch them workout than I was to see Blake Bortles workout last year.
This also means the defensive linemen workouts will take place on Sunday, which should boost ratings, especially considering the talent at that position group this year with USC defensive end Leonard Williams a candidate to be the first overall pick.
Approximately 350 college football players will be invited to the Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. with the full list available by the end of January or early February
