The folks at TNA once again have some pretty high hopes they can make a splash as they get set to debut on Destination America.
We are just two days away from the relaunch of TNA Impact Wrestling, as they will be making their live television debut on their new home, Destination America. Now with an event such as this, Dixie Carter and crew are obviously trying to make a splash, and apparently they’re really shooting for the stars…at all costs.
According to a report from WrestleZone, citing F4WOnline, TNA wants to really turn the wrestling world upside down by having Alberto Del Rio make an appearance, no matter how much it costs them.
"TNA reportedly wants Impact to debut with a fresh look, and the company feels a Del Rio appearance would be a great way to present a re-boot of the product to the fans.If TNA does get Del Rio for an appearance on Wednesday, it would have to be a non-exclusive deal, as Del Rio is already signed to appear on ROH TV through March of this year."
As we’ve found out since his release from WWE, Del Rio is in a pretty good position for himself, where he can more or less do what he wants. He’s already started working for AAA in his home country of Mexico, and over the weekend he made his debut for Ring of Honor. More than likely, it will take a pretty big dollar amount to even have him make an appearance.
But if there is one thing that we know for certain about Dixie Carter it’s that she has the money to play around with. However, she has to be careful and look at this from a long-term standpoint. It would not be wise to have him appear Wednesday, create the buzz and then not have him be able to show up again in the near future because of his other obligations.
