Roy Hibbert gets the ball with time running out and throws up a 20 foot prayer that does not get answered.

More from Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers were down by one against the struggling Los Angeles Lakers with time running out which prompted the Pacers to run an interesting offensive scheme.

Roy Hibbert somehow wound up with the ball with time winding down and threw up what can only be described as the ugliest 20 foot fade-away shot ever. The shot from Hibbert hit the top of the backboard and fell to the Staples Center hardwood just as the buzzer sounded.

Much like this entire season for the Pacers have struggled and Hibbert’s wonky shot sums up the season for Indiana rather perfectly. Just moments before the ill-fated shot, Hibbert had a scuffle with Carlos Boozer in which he was visibly upset and shaken. It’s easy to say this factored into his ill-fated shot at the end of the game, but then again nothing is easy for the Pacers.

The Pacers have really struggled this season after losing Paul George, and George Hill has missed all but 5 of the Pacers’ games. Indiana sits at 13-22 and are 2 games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference which means they might be better served to throw in the towel and get in the NBA Draft Lottery.
