Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is hoping to remain in the Steel City for the duration of his career, and that could all begin with a contract extension that he hopes will come soon.
Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers came crashing out of the postseason, following a disappointing loss to the division rival Baltimore Ravens on Wild Card weekend.

Now, with the Steelers having a number of tough decisions ahead of them, we could see a drastically different look to their roster. But what do the changes mean for their franchise quarterback?
Roethlisberger has consistently said that he hopes to retire as a member of the Steelers, but with one year remaining on his contract he could soon have difficult negotiations ahead. Thinking about those discussions, Roethlisberger is hoping that he gets a contract extension sooner rather than later.
“This is as healthy exiting a season as I’ve felt. I felt as healthy throughout the season just cause of the offseason work I put in last offseason and I plan on doing that again this year. I feel great, I felt great all year, and we’ll continue to do that. Ultimately it’s up to the representation and the Rooney family to do something hopefully this offseason and hopefully sooner than later because I love being here with this family,” Roethlisberger said on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh.
“When the time comes, I’m sure [my agents will] come in town here before too long, whenever they start getting ready to talk to the Rooney family and we’ll sit down and we’ll discuss all the different options and possibilities and so when that time comes, I don’t think we’ll leave any stone unturned.”
With so many moving parts and roster changes, the Steelers would be wise to keep Ben Roethlisberger, who is the glue that holds the team’s dynamic offense together.
It is hard not to see Roethlisberger finishing his career in black and gold.
