The Dallas Cowboys can beat the Green Bay Packers — here’s five reasons why
The 12-4 Dallas Cowboys, fresh off their emotional, hard fought and somewhat controversial wild card victory over the Detroit Lions in Dallas on Sunday, will be playing the No. 2 seed Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field on Sunday.
Before Sunday the Cowboys had not won a playoff game since 2009. And their struggles in December football in that time are well documented. Those struggles were overstated, especially as it relates to the play of Tony Romo.
Nonetheless, these two teams were fairly equal throughout the 2014 campaign. Among the notable facts going into this game, the fact that Dallas was 8-0 on the road while Green Bay was 8-0 at home is the most relevant for the upcoming contest.
It’s not the only meaningful one though. Green Bay averaged 30.4 points per contest; Dallas 29.2. Green Bay gave up 21.8 points per game; Dallas just a little more at 22.0.
Green Bay was third in the league in point differential at 8.6; Dallas seventh at 7.2.
There’s very little evidence to suggest that Green Bay is a vastly superior football team. The evidence, if anything suggests that the two are quite even. That’s good news for the Cowboys. They can win this football game.
Here are five more specific reasons the Cowboys can win. Or more to the point, five paths the Cowboys can take to guarantee a road victory on Sunday.
