It has been over a decade since Dwyane Wade left Marquette to enter the NBA Draft, eventually becoming a future Hall of Famer. But while he hasn’t played for the school in a long time, his namesake may be reviving the glory days in the near future.
The Miami Heat star posted a photo to his Instagram account that showed off a personalized Marquette court for his son to play on.
Wade isn’t telling his son where he should go to college, but the chances are that if he can persuade him to go to Marquette, someone at the basketball program there will make it happen.
The photo also had the caption:
"I don’t know if he will ever go to Marquette….but a father can dream..#homecourt #hegotnext"
Wade had some very successful years of his career while at Marquette, as he helped establish himself as a star while leading the Golden Eagles the Final Four in 2003 including a still iconic win over No. 1 seeded Kentucky.
It’s unclear where Wade’s son will play basketball but it doesn’t really matter. Wade established himself as a star at Marquette but since then has established himself as an All-Star father as well. It was a rough upbringing for Wade in Chicago, and the life he has given his children is one where they can choose to attend any school they want.
So while it may not be Marquette where Dwyane Wade’s son plays his college ball, he can expect the full support of his father no matter what.
