Can Jusuf Nurkic help you win your fantasy basketball league? I would say if he can keep this up, the answer is obviously a resounding yes! So stop what you are doing and go pick him up right now! So now that you have added the hottest player in the game right now, we can sit back and try to digest just exactly what is going on with the Nuggets that has allowed Jusuf to break out like this. Nurkic has been simply earning more and more minutes and drawing praise from head coach Brian Shaw. Nurkic has earned the trust of his teammates as well, and Shaw attributes that to his increased minutes and production.
If the Nuggets were to trade Timofey Mozgov, as has been the speculation of late, then Nurkic will become a must-own asset for fantasy league owners across all formats and types of games. He is already bordering on being a player that you must own, and could wind up being a force that thrusts owners in H2H leagues into their league’s championship game.
If you missed the boat on picking him up, then it is unlikely you are going to be able to pry him away from whatever crafty owner in your league was able to acquire his services, but this guy might be good enough that you want to give it a shot. Specially for owners in cats leagues. Nurkic has averaged 3.5 blocks over his last 4 games. Those are some pretty incredible numbers, and although they may come down a little bit, it is entirely possible he could sustain a three blocks a game average.
He has everything you could want in a player. He is young, and he has earned the confidence and trust in his coach and his fellow teammates. He also seems to have the athletic ability and talent necessary to be a successful center in this league. While he is good and improving, he could certainly stand to buck up a bit at the free throw line. At a meager 66% from the line he leaves a lot to be desired, but he is certainly a little better than other centers who have excelled and done well at this position.
So to sum it up, go get you some Jusuf Nurkic and add him to your team. It doesn’t matter if you can pronounce his name, it only matters if you can click the green button next to his name and add him to your roster.
