Jameis Winston is entering the NFL Draft this year, which may spur another massive trade like we saw with Robert Griffin III in 2012.

Marcus Mariota is the Heisman Trophy winner and the consensus No. 1 overall pick, but the real drama starts at No. 2 overall, as the Tennessee Titans have a decision to make. They have a quarterback already, but he hardly impressed anyone this past season.

This raises the question of whether or not Zach Mettenberger is the man in Tennessee or if the team should spend a high draft pick on a quarterback. If they don’t choose to spend the No. 2 overall pick on a quarterback, the Titans would be foolish to not trade the pick to someone fawning over the top two quarterbacks in the draft this year.

While hardly a report in the traditional sense, CBS Sports insider Jason La Canfora has a hunch that another RGIII-style trade could come to fruition now that it appears Jameis Winston is going to enter the NFL Draft.

La Canfora isn’t reporting that a trade is in the works, as Winston hasn’t even officially declared yet. All of this speculation is based off of something Winston’s father said, as there has been no official word that the Florida State quarterback will be entering the draft.

Assuming that he does — as the chances of him doing so continue to rise — then the idea that the Titans would trade out of the No. 2 overall slot is very real. There is even talk that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could ride Mariota-Mania and trade the No. 1 overall pick in an RGIII-style trade.

In either scenario, there are quarterbacks later in the draft that the Bucs and Titans could take. Tennessee already has a potential project in Zach Mettenberger, while Tampa Bay could look at someone like Sean Mannion, Brett Hundley or another second tier quarterback k later in the draft.

Either way, it’s becoming apparent that the more and more teams are getting sold on Mariota and Winston, the more likely it is that someone will jump the gun and offer up a huge trade that shifts the draft. It’s not a guarantee to happen, as players like Amari Cooper and others could spur trades as well, but in a draft where there is no sure thing someone is likely to gamble on a high pick.
