New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been in the sports headlines lately for being a Dallas Cowboys fan. This time Christie is back in the headlines thanks to one tweet from Wisconsin governor Scott Walker and his loyalty to the Green Bay Packers.
It’s great when politicians get behind their local sports teams. Everyone knows that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is a Dallas Cowboys fans and he’s been catching hell for hanging out with owner Jerry Jones during the games.
This time he’s getting flack from a fellow governor with one simple tweet.
This is the type of owner I'll be looking to hug after a #Packers win on Sunday: pic.twitter.com/W20LRO5oMM
— Governor Walker (@GovWalker) January 7, 2015
While Christie has been the victim of many rude and classless response on social media from a slew of people, Walker’s tweet shows you can troll someone while remaining classy.
It’s clear Governor Scott Walker is a Packers fan and will be rooting against the Cowboys on Sunday. Yet, his simple tweet is a great way to make fun of Christie without personally attacking the New Jersey Governor.

At the same time, Walker is showing his appreciation for the fans.
Packers fans will be sitting in frigid temperatures on Sunday. Their passion, attendance game in and game out, and simpleness of the structure are some of the great things at Lambeau Field. This is in contrast to the Cowboys fans, who sit in a nice heated, bright, and modern stadium, while Governor Christie, who sits with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones inside the owner’s box.
In the past, local politicians have made friendly bets in sports games. Usually their bets are in games like the Super Bowl, World Series, and other championship games. However, given the love of both governors for their respective teams, it would be great if the two had a friendly wager. One great bet would be Christie having to wear a cheesehead for a week, while Walker being required to wear a Cowboys uniform for a week. This bet or something similar would go viral and have Christie and Walker further in the sports highlights.
While a bet doesn’t seem to be in the works at this time, it will be interesting to see how Christie responds to Walker’s tweet.
One great response would be a picture of him and Jones celebrating last week’s win over the Detroit Lions. Yet, it appears Christie isn’t active on Twitter as much as Walker, so don’t hold your breathe waiting for a response. However, there would be no better time than now for Christie to become an active Twitter user again and find a way to get back at Governor Walker with his own funny, yet classy, tweet.
For now, we can laugh at Walker calling out Christie on Twitter.
Both teams have passionate fan bases, including their respective Governor, and both Walker and Christie will be plastered on your television multiple times come Sunday. If the Packers win, Governor Walker should find another way to troll Christie and his ‘Boys.
