Kemba Walker hits a dagger to finish off the Raptors

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, Kemba Walker hit a game winning basket to give the Hornets a win over their opponent. Tonight’s victim is the poor Toronto Raptors, who have now lost four in a row. It’s starting to feel like the only way the Hornets can win a game is if Kemba hits a clutch shot to give them the victory. He’s definitely their go to player during this moment and he’s stepped up, with tonight’s shot being his 4th game winner of the season.

So does tonight’s shot top last night? There is no right or wrong answer here with both shots coming down to preference. Last night’s game winner featured Walker taking on contact but fighting through it to make the super difficult shot. Tonight’s was a little cleaner and as such looked a little prettier.

The argument can be made that nobody in the NBA is better at jumping straight up on a step back, or pull up jumpshot, than Kemba Walker. He showcased that tonight using the step back to create just enough space to get the shot up without it getting blocked. He’s done it before and he’s clearly mastered it to the point where it’s become his go to move.

Kemba Walker is a fun player because he’s not known for being a very good jump shooter, but he has a career full of game winning highlights. So of course when the discussion of “clutch” comes up he’s one of the players that gets mentioned in the conversation. No matter your feelings on clutch, one thing is for certain, Kemba Walker has no fear when it comes to taking the deciding shot of the game.
