St. Louis Rams owner Sam Kroenke is straight up ignoring city officials
By Josh Hill
St. Louis Rams owner Sam Kroenke is wholly uninterested in talking to city officials about keeping the team in Missouri.
The St. Louis Rams appear primed to move to Los Angeles with the latest hints ranging from the purchase of stadium land in California to the Rams owner straight up ignoring calls from the city.

This comes just days after it was revealed that Sam Kroenke purchased stadium land in California in what appears to be a power move to relocate the team to Los Angeles. You can’t blame Kroenke for wanting to have an NFL team in one of the largest markets in the world when they finally pop as Super Bowl contenders, as opposed to the largely St. Louis Cardinals city he’s in now.
When baseball is more popular and of higher quality that your NFL franchise, it’s time to move.
According to St. Louis city officials, including those close to the Mayor, there is hope that the Rams can be saved but everyone is getting the hint that Kroenke doesn’t want to stay. The biggest hint yet that this might be the case is seen in Kroenke straight up ignoring calls from the city.
"“He hasn’t responded, he hasn’t called back, he hasn’t done anything,” Crane said of Kroenke.“After a while, you sort of get the hint,” said Jeff Rainford, the mayor’s chief of staff."
It’s one thing when the owner of an NFL franchise is at odds with city officials, but it’s a whole different animal when said owner is screening calls to avoid talking to city officials. It’s growing more and more apparent that the Rams will be heading back to Los Angeles, which is a good move for the team.
Los Angeles is the largest market in America without a football team and it’s only fitting that L.A. lands a football team. The unfortunate side of this is that it will come at the expense of the loyal fans in St. Louis. Through all of the crappy years with the team since their Super Bowl runs, the team is finally getting good but will reap the benefits of being among the NFL elite while in Los Angeles and not St. Louis.
