The Atlanta Hawks have the best record in the Eastern Conference and at least one of their fans has gotten a bit too cocky and Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol got a first hand account of that in a hilarious exchange.

Looking at the top NBA standings and you’ll see two teams at the top of their conference who are normally not in this position, so you can forgive fans of the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks for being pretty confident and borderline obnoxious for the first half of the season.

Although don’t expect Memphis center Marc Gasol to be so forgiving after one Hawks fan pulled a the old “put your hand our for a handshake only to pull the hand back and brush the side of your head” gag.

Okay, props to this guy for bringing this back from the wayback machine. But at the same time, you look like you’re wearing dad jeans, so step your game up if you’re gonna troll one of the better players in the Association.

Gasol didn’t seem too find much humor in the guy’s hijinx and looked like he was darn near demanding a handshake and wasn’t about to get snubbed like he was Tom Brady on the Patriots sideline after a big play.

Atlanta had the last laugh on this night as they knocked off the Grizzlies 96-86 on their “Tinder night” so I guess this Hawks fan was feeling lucky and decided to press his luck and troll Gasol and get some sort of pleasure from that.

Gasol is scheduled to be a free agent at the end of the year but I think it is pretty safe to assume he won’t be considering Atlanta as a possible destination if the Grizzlies let him walk in free agency.
