Key & Peele Super Bowl special coming to Comedy Central

Fans of the Key & Peele and of the NFL will be in for quite the treat as Comedy Central will air a one-hour special two days before the Super Bowl on Jan 30.

Key & Peele had their season finale on Dec. 10 but the comedy duo who has been on fire since their Comedy Central show debuted in 2012 will be back for a special presentation two days before the Super Bowl on Jan. 30, according to Megh Wright of Splitsider.

Set your DVR’s now for the 10:00pm airing and in case you miss it the first time around you can watch the encore airing the next night at 11:00pm.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have incorporated football into their sketch comedy show a few times over the last three seasons with the highlight being the East/West College Bowl names sketch.

One can only hope there is another edition of this on Jan. 30.

We were blessed enough to get a second installment in season two.

And who could forget the East/West rap that had a Super Bowl Shuffle vibe to it?

One of the names we saw in the original East/West video has made it to the big leagues where Hingle McCringleberry could not get a break from the officials who shut down his celebrations in hilarious fashion.

The recently completed season took us back to the gridiron with a humorous look at concussions. Now, brain injuries aren’t typically a good source of comedy, but Key & Peele pulled it off as only they could with this concussed quarterback sketch.

Needless to say I will be watching the one-hour special, which is twice as long as their normal episodes, and will likely enjoy a second and third viewing before the Super Bowl kicks off two days later.
