After defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road, the Baltimore Ravens were hungry to take their playoff success to New England.
It didn’t take the Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens to score inside Gillette Stadium on Saturday. All it took was five plays for the visitors to silence the passionate New England Patriots fans. Flacco connected with WR Kamar Aiken for the first score of the game.
After a quick defensive stop by the tough Ravens defense, Flacco led the offense down the field once again.
In fact, he started the game going a perfect 8-for-8 with his completions and found seven different players. The exception was TE Owen Daniels, who he threw to on a skied ball into the end zone.
On the very next play, he found Steve Smith Sr. and put his squad up by two touchdowns.
No one seemed to expect the Ravens offensive-line to hold back the Patriots defensive-line, but they’ve given Flacco ample time and space to stay as cool as the other side of the pillow as he surveyed his open passing options. As a result, they are in the driver’s seat as they look to defeat Tom Brady and the Patriots in front of their home crowd.
Somehow Flacco finds away to elevate his game and put up big numbers in playoff action, despite his career regular season numbers not being as impressive.
