Tom Brady moved ahead of Joe Montana for the all-time postseason record for touchdown passes with his 46th coming on this dime to Brandon LaFell.

More from New England Patriots

Tom Brady already held the record for most playoff starts with 26 and playoff wins with 18 and he added to his Hall of Fame resume, breaking a record held by his boyhood idol, Joe Montana.

The New England Patriots have trailed for much of the AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens, but as he always seems to do Tom Brady has led the Patriots back from three separate deficits and into the lead.

Brady helped overcome a pair of 14-point deficits, but saved his best for late in the fourth quarter with the Pats trailing 31-28 and his go-ahead touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell not only gave the Pats a four-point lead with 5:13 remaining, he broke one of Joe Montana’s playoff records in the process.

On 1st-and-10, Brady dropped back, looked to the left sideline where LaFell was streaking up the sideline and dropped a deft pass into the waiting arms of his receiver to break Montana’s record for postseason touchdown passes with 46.

Talk about putting it only where your guy can catch it, but this is par for the course from Brady who has made a habit out of this in his Hall of Fame career.

With Joe Flacco throwing an interception in the end zone in the closing minute, Brady will be able to add to his total against the winner of Sunday’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos in next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game after winning his 19th postseason game.
