Adam Jones loses bet to David Ortiz after Ravens lose to Patriots
By Hayden Kane
MLB players Adam Jones and David Ortiz placed a friendly wager on the AFC Divisional game between the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots. Now Jones has to pay up.
Good news: the payouts for this wager do not involve recreating the Kim Kardashian “butt picture” or anything that is otherwise demeaning or impossible to un-see for outside observers.

Longtime competitors in the American League East, Adam Jones and David Ortiz decided to show their loyalty to their respective local NFL teams and place a bet on Saturday’s playoff game between the Ravens and Patriots.
Such as should always be the case in public bets between public figures such as this one, the terms of the bet were simple: donation to the charity of the other’s choosing and having to wear the enemy’s jersey.
The Ravens lost, so Adam Jones lost. That also means that we won’t get to see David Ortiz in a Terrell Suggs jersey, at least not for now. In that sense, we all lost when the Patriots came back to beat the Ravens, ticking them off in the process.
Here is the series of tweets as Jones announced the terms of their bet:
Trash talk ensued…
And then the Patriots won.
Of course, Jones plans to honor the bet.
The best part of the bet is that these two included a donation to charity as part of the terms. That is great and shows some good perspective from both guys.
Coming soon to a ‘retweet’ near you: Adam Jones in a Tom Brady jersey.
