The Dallas Cowboys look like they’re going to lose Rod Marinelli to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he will be the new defensive coordinator.

The Dallas Cowboys seemed to have a magical season and playoff run in the works, but that all came to an end when they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Albeit in rather controversial fashion over an overturned call.

The Cowboys had a quality coaching staff in place and some players on team friendly deals, like running back DeMarco Murray and wide receiver Dez Bryant. Both of those players had remarkable seasons and will earn a huge raise in their new contracts.

Rod Marinelli helped lead the Cowboys defense to a stellar campaign, one that saw a team of spare parts come together to be a formidable defense. The Cowboys look like they’ll have to prepare for 2015 without Marinelli, because according to Pro Football Talk Marinelli is expected to accept the defensive coordinator job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett and passing game coordinator and play-caller Scott Linehan are also without contracts and could walk away.
