The Dallas Cowboys were eliminated from the NFL playoffs on Sunday. Suffice it to say the sympathy level from Philadelphia is minimal, at best.

For all of the storied history of the Dallas Cowboys—even if the last 20 years or so has been more of a horror story, the team’s fan base is often mocked and ridiculed nationally as being fans with a certain bandwagon feel to them.

Philadelphia Enquirer cartoonist Rob Tornoe captured that in editorial cartoon form shortly after the Cowboys lost an NFC Divisional Playoff game to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Tough couple of weeks for that fan base. They were trashed after the Phantom Flag Game, in which a pass interference penalty by the Cowboys against the Detroit Lions last week was picked up after the infraction had been announced by referee Pete Morelli.

And then they were trashed Sunday for expressing outrage when this play by Dez Bryant was ruled no catch because of the NFL’s maddeningly difficult to interpret “completing the process of the catch” rules (known before as the “Calvin Johnson rule”).

Dallas hasn’t advanced beyond the divisional round since 1995, the season after which the Cowboys won their most recent Super Bowl title.

They have three postseason wins over that span—Wild Card Playoff wins following the 1996, 2009 and 2014 seasons.
