4. “Excessive Celebration”

NFL Rule: Basically, the NFL prohibits “sack dances; home run swing; incredible hulk; spiking the ball; spinning the ball; throwing or shoving the ball; pointing; pointing the ball; verbal taunting; military salute; standing over an opponent (prolonged and with provocation); or dancing.”

I can see it right now; here’s the scenario that kills the Packers:

The Seahawks are up by four points with only seconds remaining in the game. The Packers have the ball, and it’s third-and-goal on the one-yard-line.

Eddie Lacy takes the handoff and plunges up the middle.

Did he get in?

Is he short?

The referee signals touchdown. Eddie Lacy and the Packers go crazy celebrating the touchdown, and they get flagged for excessive celebration. The penalty will be enforced on the ensuing kickoff… BUT WAIT!

The Booth buzzes down the head referee, and the play is under review. In the review, we see Lacy’s knee touch the ground before the ball crosses the goal line, setting up a fourth-and-goal from the half-foot line. BUT WAIT!

The penalty the Packers just got for excessive celebration moves them back to 15 yard line, and it’s fourth down.

In that scenario, the Packers lose every time, right? They aren’t going to score from fourth-and-goal from the 15, and it’d happen all because of the No Fun League’s stupid excessive celebration rules.
