The Chicago Bears schedule an interview with former Denver Broncos head coach John Fox.
After being surprisingly fired following the Denver Broncos’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round of the 2015 NFL playoffs, John Fox is making moves and he’s making them fast. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Fox is scheduled to interview with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday.
Former #Broncos coach John Fox will interview tomorrow with the #Bears, source said. This is his No. 1 choice for a landing spot

Unless the Bears management team is interested in meeting with a head coach they perceive to be a better candidate than Fox, it’s unlikely that the Fox exits Chicago without an offer, especially if Rapoport’s words of the Bears being Fox’s number one choice ring true.

Predominantly Orange
After an extremely successful stint with the Denver Broncos, it was expected that Fox would be a hot commodity on the market. It seems perfect for a team like the Chicago Bears who are looking to avoid a roster overhaul. This past season, the Bears finished with a record of 5-11, their worst record since 2004. After missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, the Bears fired second-year head coach Mark Trestman.
Chicago has extreme issues on the defensive side of the ball, finishing 30th in the league in yards allowed, and finished 2nd in most points allowed with 442.
Depending on whom you speak to, a lot of Fox’s success was tied to Peyton Manning’s presence in Denver. In Chicago, there’s no eventual Hall of Fame quarterback, instead the lovable smokin’ Jay Cutler whose coming off, arguably, the worst year of his career. He finished the season with 3812 yards, 28 touchdowns, 18 interceptions, and a passer rating of 88.6.
For his career, John Fox has a head coaching record of 119-89 which includes 6 Division championships and a playoff record of 8-6. He also has two Super Bowl losses as coach of the Carolina Panthers and the Broncos.
This past week, the Bears have also interviewed Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles (accepted New York Jets coaching job), Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, and Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
