One junior hockey player recently almost decapitated himself with his own stick by not paying attention.
Look, hockey is a dangerous enough sport as it is when the game is taking place on the ice; so if you’re a player, you want to take as many precautions off the ice to make sure you don’t put yourself in harm’s way.

Apparently, Mitchell Skiba from the Alpena Flyers of the Midwest Junior Hockey League never got that memo or something.
After getting himself a spearing penalty in a recent game, Skiba was, of course, forced to leave the ice. He was noticeably upset after what had taken place, so as he was making his way to his seat for incurring the penalty, his mind wasn’t exactly on where his stick was.
But, he really, really, should have been paying attention to where that stick was, because it ended up almost taking his head off.
Yes, watch in the video below as Skiba knocks himself into the middle of last week when the stick cracks him right in the face.
See, always pay attention to what you’re doing, no matter what is on your mind when you’re coming off the ice. You can see he wasn’t aware of anything involving the hockey stick in his hands, and he paid the price dearly for that.
