Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is aware but not scared of Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are coming off a huge 26-21 win at home against the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. It was a hard-fought game, but they were able to make more winning plays down the stretch than the Cowboys were able to.

Looking ahead to Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks on the road, the Packers have a lot of work and planning to do. During the matchup between these two teams in Week 1, Rodgers didn’t throw towards Richard Sherman even one time. Sherman was defending Jarrett Boykin the entire game, but Rodgers still didn’t make one pass in Sherman’s direction.

Rodgers talked about the Packers’ approach this time around against Sherman.

“He’s a great cover guy,” Rodgers said. “He’s very intelligent, he’s got great ball skills. He’s got very good timing with his technique and he knows how to cover people. So you have to be aware of him, not scared of him, but you have a ton of respect for him.”

During the 2014 season, Rodgers had one of the best years of his career. He ended up throwing for 4,381 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Unfortunately, he has been dealing with a severely strained calf that has a small tear in it that was suffered just before the playoffs got underway.

Seattle is going to do everything they possibly can to force Rodgers to move around on his injured leg, and they have a much more dangerous defense than the Cowboys did.

If the Packers are going to win this football game, they need to move the football consistently through the air. Seattle has players like Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas in the secondary as well, and they are full of playmakers. Rodgers is going to have to be very careful, but he can’t afford to play scared either.

Both teams are going to leave everything they can on the field, and it is going to be a very entertaining game to watch. No matter which team ends up winning and heading to the Super Bowl, they aren’t going to get there without having played a very tough and complete game.

Expect to see the Packers be a bit more aggressive than they were in the first matchup between these two teams, but the Seahawks are going to be waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
