Australian Open seeds: Djokovic, Williams earn top seeds in first 2015 major

The top 16 2015 Australian Open seeds for the men and women were announced on Wednesday morning. Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams earned the top spots.
On Monday, the 2015 Australian Open will kick off and bring us the start of the first Grand Slam event of the year.

In the men’s bracket, none other than Novak Djokovic of Serbia earns the top of the Australian Open seeds. Switzerland’s Roger Federer will begin the tournament seeded at No. 2, while Rafael Nadal of Spain and Stan Wawrinka, Federer’s countryman, rounding out the top four.
Andy Murray, a three-time Australian Open finalist, earned the sixth seed.
For the women, five-time champion Serena Williams earned the top seed.
Maria Sharapova (Russia), Simona Halep (Romania) and Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) round out the top four Australian Open seeds for the women. Other notable top ten seeds for the women are No. 7 Eugenie Bouchard of Canada and No. 8 Caroline Wozniacki.
The 2015 Australian Open draw will take place on Friday.
