Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott will give it one more run at an SEC Championship in 2015.

The chances of Mississippi State capturing the SEC title that eluded them this past season in 2015 just got a lot better, as quarterback Dak Prescott has announced that he will bypass the NFL Draft and will be returning to Starkville for his senior season of eligibility.

Prescott announced the news on Wednesday during a scheduled press conference at the school.

For a good portion of the season it seemed as if it was inevitable that Prescott would be making the jump to the pros, however some of his struggles down the stretch showed that he still needs some more work on the field in college.

Prescott finished the 2014 season with 3,449 passing yards with 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Also, once again showcasing the versatility that he brings to the table, he capped off 2014 with 986 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

Led by Prescott, the Bulldogs were the No. 1 team in the country for a time, until the wheels fell off against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Mississippi State would then suffer a loss to rival Ole Miss at the end of the season, and then were handled by Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl. Prescott and the Bulldogs finished the year with a record of 10-3.

There’s no doubt that, with Prescott back as well as some other key returners, Mississippi State will be at the top of the list in the SEC in 2015.
