Mark Cuban applauds NFL’s handling of Dez Bryant’s catch in playoffs

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban applauds the NFL for their handling of the catch that was overturned by Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant in the divisonal round of the playoffs.
The Dallas Cowboys and their fans everywhere had their hearts broken when wide receiver Dez Bryant’s miraculous catch was overturned. Cowboys fans have called out the NFL for a horrible rule and robbing their team, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has applauded the NFL for their handling of the situation.
“They’re trying to define a catch,” Cuban said, via the Dallas Morning News. “What I give them credit for is that, unlike the NBA, they defined the rule so that it’s easy to call under replay. There’s no room for discretion. None. Hands hit the ground, ball came loose, that was part of the completion of the play. Zero discussion.
“If you want to change the rule, that’s a different discussion and I’m sure they will. But they wrote the rule so that there’s no room for interpretation. Unlike the NBA, where there is interpretation of everything, even afterward.”
Cuban is arguably the most popular guy in Dallas and probably all of North Texas. He is an owner who can do no wrong in the eyes of the fans. He does whatever he can to put the Mavericks in a position to win year in and year out.
When the local St. Patrick’s Day parade was going to be cancelled due to a lack of funding he cut a check to keep it going. Cuban even brought the Larry O’Brien trophy out with him around town for fans to enjoy after the Mavericks won the NBA championship.
So him agreeing with the NFL and applauding them for it might rub some Dallas fans the wrong way, but they’re not hearing what Cuban is exactly saying.
Cuban did go on to say that the rule needs to be changed and asked who would be the “Mark Cuban of the NFL” to get the ball rolling on changing it.
