Charles Barkley apparently now has a nice little stranglehold on his gambling habit.
Charles Barkley has probably daydreamed about losing as much money in gambling as any of us have made in a lifetime…combined. This is a fact that everyone knows about the NBA legend and TNT analyst, and has known for quite some time now.
Some point to Chuck having a bit of a gambling problem, and maybe he did at one time as well. But now, he appears to have a tight grip on his famous habit.
In a recent interview he had with the folks at Campus Insiders, Barkley expressed that he has seriously toned down how much he uses on gambling, and that he’s learned to do it in moderation.
“When I go to Vegas now, I try to win a couple hundred-thousand dollars,” Barkley told Campus Insiders. “If I lose a couple hundred-thousand dollars, I quit and still have a good trip. It’s like anything. If you do it moderation, it’s all right. Now with my gambling, because I love the action, I love the juice, I just learned to do it in moderation.”
Although a couple hundred-thousand still seems eye-opening to you or I, you have to remember that in addition to the millions that Barkley has won on gambling throughout the years, he has lost millions as well; again, something most of us will never probably see in our lifetimes.
“I was gambling for too much money,” Barkley said. “You can never break the casino. I went to Vegas a bunch of times and won a million dollars in a weekend. Probably 10 times. But I also went to Vegas and lost a million three times that much. ”
Hey, he might not have quit like some people wanted him to, but you have to at least commend him for cutting down on the expensive habit.
