This time, Ali’s stint in the hospital is to provide “follow-up” care related to a severe urinary tract infection he was diagnosed with following an initial hospital stay for what was believed to be pneumonia at the time.

“There were still issues with the urinary tract infection,” Ali family spokesman Bob Gunnell, via the Huffington Post.

Muhammad Ali is reportedly in stable condition and he is expected to be released from the hospital on Friday. Ali will then turn 73 years old on Saturday.

According to Gunnell, the former three-time heavyweight boxing champ plans to celebrate his birthday by watching the Louisville-Duke men’s college basketball game. While Ali is not in the public eye as often as he was during his career and shortly after retiring in 1981, he has still been known to enjoy a number of sporting events.

We would like to wish Ali all of the best as he continue to recover and prepares to celebrate his 73rd birthday.
