Report: Chicago Bears hire John Fox as head coach
By Josh Hill
The Chicago Bears have found Marc Trestman’s replacement as the team is hiring John Fox to try and right the ship.
Less than a week after he was let go and fired by the Denver Broncos, John Fox has landed on his feet and landed back in the NFC. Fox and the Broncos ‘mutually parted ways’ which is the most respectful way to say he was fired but was okay with it.

As the Broncos scramble to find a replacement head coach to ride out the rest of the Peyton Manning era with, Fox has found his next gig and it sees him return to the NFC and one of the most legendary franchises in football.
According to NFL scribe Jason Cole, the Bears will be hiring John Fox to take over the new regime as the team attempts to right the ship after the Marc Trestman era.
This isn’t all that surprising, as Fox was the favorite to land the Bears job almost as soon as he was axed in Denver. It was’t s sure thing, but Fox landing in Chicago made the most sense and it now appears to be happening.
Rex Ryan and Mike Shanahan were also options in Chicago, as well as Todd Bowles. Over the last 72 hours, the Buffalo Bills hired Rex Ryan, the New York Jets hired Todd Bowles and Mike Shanahan remains low on the coaching totem pole.
Bringing in Fox is an interesting idea for the Bears as he has had success both with a legendary quarterback and without. Jay Cutler is nowhere near Peyton Manning’s even of play but he’s far better than Jake Delhomme was.
Fo got to the Super Bowl with both quarterbacks and Bears fans are hoping that he can do the same with Cutler — who promptly falls in the middle of the scale between Manning legend and Delhomme tolerability.
