The New York Giants will have a familiar face running their defense in Steve Spagnuolo.
It appears that the New York Giants have made a decision on who they want to run their defensive unit, and it’s quite the familiar face. According to a report from Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, Steve Spagnuolo will be returning to run the team’s defense this season.
I'm told by a couple of sources that Steve Spagnuolo will officially be returning as the Giants' defensive coordinator.

Spagnuolo is probably most well known for helping lead the New York Giants to the Super Bowl in 2007, where they defeated the unstoppable New England Patriots team that had come into the game undefeated to that point. Following that season, Spagnuolo earned himself a shot at a head coaching job with the St. Louis Rams, where he was nowhere near as successful.
In three seasons with the Rams before he was fired after the 2011 season, Spagnuolo went just 10-38. In 2012, he was hired as the Saints’ defensive coordinator, but was fired after the squad finished last in total defense.
The past two seasons for Spagnuolo were spent with the Baltimore Ravens as a defensive assistant.
Following this past season, the Giants fired defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, creating the opening for Spagnuolo to now walk back into.
