Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is the latest to be added to the Pro Bowl

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is the latest to drop out of the Pro Bowl. Taking his place will be Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin, who had an impressive 2014 campaign.

More from Denver Broncos

In 2014, Maclin had his best statistical season to date, hauling in 85 catches for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns. It was surprising that Maclin, with such an incredible year, wasn’t on the roster to begin with.

This is Maclin’s first Pro Bowl and it is well deserved for the Missouri product. Maclin was a big part of the Eagles’ 10-win season, although the team ultimately fell short of the playoffs after an injury to Nick Foles and the return of Mark Sanchez did them in.

Maclin’s biggest game of the year came on October 26 at Arizona, where he had 12 catches on 16 targets for 187 yards and two touchdowns on the day.

The Eagles would ultimately lose that game, but Maclin had one of the best receiving performances of the year against a good Arizona defense.

He had three games of 150 receiving yards to add to his impressive 2014 resume. As the season went on and the Eagles’ struggles grew, Maclin’s numbers dipped a bit and probably prevented what would have been a 1,500-yard plus year for the receiver.

With his inclusion finally into the ProBowl, Maclin will now be playing among the league’s best on Sunday, January 25 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

The last time he played in Glendale, he had a career day. Do not be surprised if he goes off again.
