Amid reports that John Fox would become the Chicago Bears‘ new head coach, a new report is indiating the deal is ‘all but done.’
On Thursday, Jason Cole of Bleacher Report reported that John Fox was set to become the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
Today, Adam Schefter of ESPN piggybacked off of that report and added that the deal is “all but done.”
Schefter did not report on when the move is expected to become official.
Once Chicago officially hires John Fox, he will be 5th straight HC hired this week with a D background: Ryan, Bowles, Tomsula, Del Rio, Fox.

John Fox led the team to an AFC West championship in every season. with the team.
Fox joining the Chicago Bears would come as no surprise.
From the moment he and the Denver Broncos mutually parted ways, Fox was linked to the Bears opening because of his history with Bears consultant Ernie Accorsi and his connection to new Bears general manager Ryan Pace through good friend Sean Payton.
After being let go by the Broncos, Fox said, “I am eager to continue my coaching career and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”
It looks like the Chicago Bears will be that opportunity he was looking for.
