Bastian Schweinsteiger dumps girlfriend with a marker

Bastian Schweinsteiger mark’s off girlfriend’s name to briefly play away from home.

You might know Bastian Schweinsteiger from little known achievements like winning the Uefa Champions League and the World Cup, but the German powerhouse has recently been seen in a different light. Often recognized as a ‘tough man’ on the pitch but a private man off, it was a change seeing his relationship troubles spill on to the pitch while playing for Bayern Munich earlier this week.

Schweinsteiger who has recorded an incredible 481 appearances for German giants Bayern Munich and 108 caps for Germany, has had his girlfriend Sarah Brandner’s name imprinted on to his Adidas boots for quite some time. However, after recent reports circulated that the pair had split, the World Cup winner did nothing to dispel the rumors.

The good folks at EuroSport were quick to highlight the fact that good ol’ Bastian has covered over his former beloved with a black marker. Apparently Bastian, who earns $236,578.71 A WEEK found it more economically viable to spend $2 on a sharpie rather than buy a new pair of football boots for $120. You can say what you want about him saving time breaking in new boots or whatever, but I personally like to keep my ex girlfriend or her name a million miles away from my feet… Though it seems as though Bastian had a feeling the split wouldn’t be permanent as the couple are rumored to have reconciled since the boot ‘inicident’… That didn’t stop the German having a quick fling with tennis ace Ana Ivanovic while his boots were ‘clean’.

It appears his footballing skills is matched only by his taste in women and though miss Ivanovic is no slouch, you can’t blame the defensive midfielder for making things work at home:

Bayern Munich currently sit 11 points clear at the top of the German league so I don’t think their linchpin’s relationship status has had any effect on them. Their style of play consisting of German efficiency coupled with Pep Guardiola’s ‘tic-a-taca’ Spanish freestyle has been running teams over all season. Schweinsteiger is expected to lead Bayern Munich to the German title and challenge Europe’s elite for the top spot in world club football- The Uefa Champions league…whether or not he has a female’s name on his boots.

Just in case all this talk of Bastian Swchweinsteiger’s lifestyle has made you forget why he’s famous, here’s a video of him smashing one home!
