J.R. Smith grabs snack from crowd during timeout (GIF)

Cleveland Cavaliers player J.R. Smith was apparently hungry when he came to the bench during a timeout late in the game.

Lebron James scored 30-plus points for the second straight game and the Cleveland Cavaliers looked like the team everybody predicted them to be at the beginning of the season Friday night. With the a six-point lead late in the fourth quarter, J.R. Smith headed to the bench during a timeout, got distracted along the way, and grabbed some nearby food from a fan.

The fan’s reaction to Smith is great. He laughs and probably thinks, “did that just happen?” Smith must have been hungry after putting in a solid performance against the Los Angeles Clippers; he needed some food in him to get an extra boost of energy with 30 seconds left to play.

It’s not every day you see a player grab some food from a fan. If anything, they are usually running into the courtside fans or jumping over the seats during a physical play. This time around, this lucky fan can tell all his friends and family that Smith took food from him without even asking. Smith’s actions are funny to see over and over again, but it would probably better if he focused on the coach during the timeout. Not every fan will laugh at Smith taking food from them and someone could get worked up over it.
