Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that his loss against the Seattle Seahawks is among the toughest in his career.
The Green Bay Packers played the absolute worst second half that they possibly could have to lose against the Seattle Seahawks in overtime by a final score of 28-22.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers scored just one touchdown in the entire game, and were stopped on the one yard-line twice by Seattle. They gave up 21 points in the second half, and were only able to kick a field goal themselves. It was a very tough loss for the Packers to swallow, and Rodgers said it was among the toughest in his career.

Green Bay dominated the first half, but still weren’t able to capitalize on great field position. Rodgers played a very inconsistent game as well, and finished with 178 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions.

Those numbers simply aren’t going to get the job done, and the Seahawks took advantage of the Packers’ conservative play in the second half.
All of that being said, the Packers had a great season and shouldn’t hang their heads too long about the finish. Should they be embarrassed about the loss and use it as motivation for the coming offseason? Absolutely, but they can’t afford to dwell on it.
There is a long offseason ahead of work to do for the Packers, including some roster changes. Green Bay will need to improve a bit more defensively, and will also need special teams help. Mike McCarthy’s play-calling job should be called into question as well with some of the decisions that were made in the second half.
It is a very disappointing loss, but the Packers still have a lot of talent moving forward. Rodgers played an impressive season, and unfortunately the last game will be the worst that he played for the majority of the year.
Don’t be surprised to see the Packers be a bit more aggressive this past offseason than they have been in recent years. Ted Thompson has not been known to pursue high-level free agents, but he was more aggressive last year with the Julius Peppers signing. The Packers aren’t too far away from winning another Super Bowl, but they have to make some improvements to get to that point.
