This Cowboys fan came a lot closer than probably many felt he would in August

There are good ideas and there are bad ideas. Getting a tattoo predicting your team to win the Super Bowl probably falls under the bad idea category. Winning the Super Bowl is one of the hardest things to accomplish in sports and the odds of your tattoo ending up correct are long shots at best.

More from Dallas Cowboys

One Dallas Cowboys fan back in August decided to be bold and get a tattoo that predicted Dallas to win the Super Bowl this season. Back in August, the Cowboys were starting a depleted offense and almost no one gave them any shot to even win the NFC East.

That didn’t stop Derek Allgood from getting the giant Cowboys logo with “2015 world champs” tattooed on his arm anyways. It was an idea so crazy, there’s no way the picture could have been real.

Many doubted the authenticity of the tattoo and didn’t believe it was real. After all, to consider the struggling Cowboys at the time would have any shot to win the Super Bowl this year, was considered asinine to say the least.

The Cowboys would go on to have a wildly successful season and won the NFC East with a 12-4 record. They would ultimately fall short in the Divisional Round after a controversial call against the Green Bay Packers that many will be talking about for a longtime to come.

Allgood, still sports the tattoo, however, and proved it wasn’t a fake.

The tattoo is indeed real and Allgood still sports it despite the Cowboys coming up short in their quest.

Allgood isn’t the first person to get a tattoo before the season predicting their team to win the Super Bowl. Last year a Seattle Seahawks fan predicted his team to win the Super Bowl and wound up being correct.

Not everyone can be winners, so maybe think otherwise before going out on a giant limb of such magnitude.

Tattoos don’t wash away–unfortunately.
