Robert Allenby, a golfer on the PGA Tour, was reportedly kidnapped, beaten and robbed after playing in the Sony Open in Hawaii.

In perhaps one of the most bizarre stories you will see this weekend, PGA Tour golfer Robert Allenby was reportedly kidnapped from a bar on Friday night after missing the cut at the Sony Open, before being beaten, robbed and tossed out of a car.

The Golf Channel passed along the news.

According to Allenby, he was wrapping up his time at a wine bar with his friend. The tab was paid, his friend went to the restroom and then, before he knew it, he was being helped by a homeless woman after being tossed out of a car.

“I didn’t think I was going to survive this one,” said Allenby, via the Brisbane Times. “I was separated from my friend in the bar after we had paid the tab at 10:48pm and he went to the bathroom and next thing you know I’m being dumped in a park miles away.

“I only know this part because a homeless woman found me and told me she saw a few guys pull up and throw me out of the car.”

Allenby was robbed of his credit card and cell phone, along with cash and his wallet.

Photos of Allenby’s injuries can be seen in the photo and video above.

A man eventually helped Robert Allenby return to his hotel by paying for a cab fare. Once he was safely at his hotel, Allenby called the police.

Allenby had planned on returning home, but has remained in Hawaii while he assists the FBI in their investigation.

“We have some names and numbers and they have some leads to follow up, so I am confident they will get the guys,” Allenby said. “With the FBI guys involved, they’re the best, the guys on the tour are awesome, and they’ll get to the bottom of it.”
