Russell Wilson had gone four straight playoff games without an interception, dating back to the NFC Championship game last year. Thatās a streak that came crashing down within the first fifteen minutes of the NFC title game this year as the Packers got to Wilson early.
In the first quarter of the NFC Championship game, the Packers ended the Seahawks streak of not throwing an interception when Ha Ha Clinton-Dix picked off Russell Wilson.
It was the start of four straight great possessions for the Packers, as they started their drives on the Seahawks side of the 50-yard line in every drive beyond the opening kickoff. The interception by Linton-Dix only lead to a field goal, but it set the Packers up with the first points of the game.
What it also did was give the Packers the confidence they needed to go out and punch the Seahawks defense straight in the mouth right away in the game. Green Bay needed to force mistakes on the part of the Seahawks, and that was the case all through the first quarter of the game.
Green Bay ended up with 13 unanswered points in that first quarter, with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix kicking all of that off with his interception of Russell Wilson.
