Peyton Manning passes on Pro Bowl
By Josh Sanchez
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is contemplating his future, but one thing he wasted no time doing was saying “no thanks” to the Pro Bowl.
When the Pro Bowl is in Hawaii, it is a great little vacation for NFL players after a long season. However, with the game being at the site of the Super Bowl this year in Arizona, it isn’t as much of a reward.

So, a meaningless game in Arizona isn’t appealing to a player like Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning — especially when you are dealing with some injuries and contemplating your future in the sport.
According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Peyton Manning has decided to skip this year’s NFL all-star showcase.
“It’s a great honor to be selected to the Pro Bowl, and I’ve always taken the obligation to play in it very seriously,” Manning said. “I’ve believed that, if healthy, it’s a player’s responsibility to play in the game because of what it means to be voted in by your peers and the fans.
“I’m disappointed that I’m just not healthy enough this year to be part of it. It’s going to be tough not being down there with the other guys, but it hasn’t had enough time to heal.”
Manning has played in more Pro Bowls than any other quarterback in NFL history, so he gets a pass on this one.
Plus, it was clear in last week’s playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts that Manning was dealing with some injuries and just was not himself. At this stage in his career, it is the smart choice to pass on the meaningless game, get healthy and decide if you want to come back for one more run at the Super Bowl.
