I can die and go to Heaven because I have now seen it all. There was a fan with a Tim Tebow New York Rangers sweater at Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I have no objection to adults wearing jerseys of their favorite players to sporting events or anywhere else for that matter unlike some who think you shouldn’t be caught dead in a jersey if you’re older than the player who’s jersey you’re wearing.

However, I had to draw the line somewhere and that line was clearly drawn in the sand after watching one fan sport a New York Rangers sweater with Tim Tebow’s name and his number 15 on the back.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cross-sport jersey in my lifetime, but I suppose there is a first (and last) time for everything.

It is hard to disagree with the caption from this tweet about it being the worst jersey on the planet. I mean, did this person not want to buy a Henrik Lundqvist jersey to the game? He’s only one of the best goalies in the NHL who almost single-handedly led the Rangers to the Stanley Cup last summer.

I suppose this fan didn’t want to invest in a Martin St. Louis jersey since he’s a free agent at the end of the year and maybe didn’t want to invest in young stud Derek Stepan or 25-year-old team captain Ryan McDonagh for some reason unbeknownst to me.

No, this fan wanted to honor a football player who started 16 games in his three-year NFL career, including one forgettable year with the New York Jets that saw him start two games as a fullback/tight end.

So what is this fan thinking?

I would love to hear the odd looks and bewildered glances this guy gets when he wears this out in public. Unless this is Tim Tebow’s uncle this is pretty weird, and even if it was, why would he not get a Florida Gators Tebow jersey?

If he’s such a big fan of Tebow then surely you would want to remember him when he was at his best at Florida when he won two national titles and finished in the top-five for the Heisman vote three times, including winning as a sophomore.

Then again there are some things that you just aren’t meant to understand and I think it’s safe to assume that this is one of those moments where you just turn your head like your dog does when you talk to him.
