New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s father said that Bill Belichick wouldn’t hesitate to get rid of his son if he didn’t want him anymore.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are preparing to take on the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game this evening. There was a point earlier this season that Brady looked to be a bit washed up and there were rumors surrounding him about the Patriots listening to trade offers.

Obviously that never happened, and Brady turned things on and played MVP caliber football down the stretch of the season.

Brady’s father, Tom Brady Sr., talked to the NFL Networks Andrea Kramer and made it clear that there are no untouchable players in the NFL. He said that if Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn’t want Brady anymore, he wouldn’t hesitate to get rid of him.

It isn’t likely that the Patriots are going to want to get rid of Brady anytime soon. He played one of the best seasons of his career considering what he had to work with, but he turned their offense into a high-powered unit once again.

During the 2014 regular season, Brady ended up throwing for 4,109 yards, 33 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

New England finished the season with a 12-4 record, and won seven games in a row to snap out of their early season funk. Brady was a big reason for their success after the slow start, and he regained the leadership role that he has had in years past. Rob Gronkowski was by far his favorite target, but he also used Julian Edelman and Brandon LaFell very well also.

Tonight’s game is going to be a very entertaining matchup between two big rivals, and the Patriots are going to need Brady to come through with a big game. Indianapolis has shown the ability to play very well defensively this season, but they also gave up 42 points to Brady and the Patriots in a 42-20 loss earlier this season.

There is no question that the Patriots have the talent to win the Super Bowl this season, but Brady is playing a bigger role in this run than he has in years past. If they are able to get past the Colts and get into the Super Bowl, they will have to face either the Seattle Seahawks or Green Bay Packers.

Either team would be a tough test, but it would be yet another chance for Brady to improve his legacy.
